Unlocking The Secrets Of Catching Bagon In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet How to Catch Bagon and Evolve It

One of the nice things about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is that players will be able to catch version-exclusive Pokémon. These Pokémon can include Legendary Pokémon, like Koraidon and Miraidon, as well as non-Legendary Pokémon like Bagon. Bagon is a Dragon-type rock head Pokémon that can only be caught in Pokemon Violet. And, you can actually add this Pokémon to your PokeDex very early in the game.

In the early part of Pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlet, the adventure begins with players getting situated at school. As you make your way up the path to the central city, you have the chance to encounter various Pokémon out in the wild. One of these Pokémon you might be lucky enough to find is Bagon. This little guy is not just cute but also a valuable addition to your team!

So, where can you actually find Bagon? To catch Bagon, head to the northeastern section of the bottom of the map, specifically near South Province Area Five. Once you arrive, climb up the nearby mountain area and keep an eye out for Bagon’s distinctive rock-like head peeking out from the surroundings. If you're playing Pokemon Scarlet, you’ll also come across a variety of other Pokémon in this area!

As always, if you don’t find the Pokémon you’re looking for in the area, you can leave and come back later. When you pull away from an area, the game will refresh and render new Pokémon, giving you a chance to find Bagon even if it wasn’t there before. With the high spawn rates in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you’re bound to encounter a lot of wild Pokémon during your explorations!

Bagon is just one of many new Pokémon making an appearance in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This little guy will evolve into two other forms: a shell-like turtle known as Shelgon at Level 30, and then the semi-Legendary Salamence at Level 50. Catching this Pokémon early on ensures that you’ll have a Dragon-type Pokémon whenever you come across any Pokémon weak against that type!

Of course, you’ll also want to be prepared for your newest Pokémon adventure by familiarizing yourself with all the Legendary Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. With the game just released, our list may update over the coming days as more information becomes available.

While this isn’t the only place you’ll find Bagon wandering, it is one of the easiest to reach. You can technically approach it in the early moments of the game, just after leaving your home to travel to the academy. So, get ready, trainers! The world of Pokémon is waiting for you!
