Trump's Campaign Aircraft Takes Flight: The Boeing 737 For 2024

After former President Donald Trump announced JD Vance as his running mate during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, the campaign revealed an exciting twist for the upcoming election. The official aircraft for the Trump-Vance ticket will be a reconfigured Boeing 737, designed to make a strong statement on the campaign trail. Jason Miller, Trump's senior advisor, shared images of the newly branded Boeing 737-800 on his X account, showcasing the application of the bold 'TRUMP' and 'VANCE' decals on the fuselage. The aircraft boasts a striking livery that includes a US flag on the tail, the iconic 'Make America Great Again' slogan on the side, and 'Trump 47' emblazoned on the turbines, signaling Trump's bid for the 47th presidency.

This particular 737, which is 22 years old, is configured in an all-economy layout with 189 seats. Unlike Trump's personal Boeing 757-200, this plane's interior is expected to be a more basic economy configuration, at least for the time being. Registered as N917XA, the aircraft was previously operated by iAero Airways before being reconfigured for campaign use by Eastern Air Express, a subsidiary of Eastern Airlines.

On July 14, the aircraft completed a test flight, departing from Kansas City International Airport and returning shortly after. As seen in previous campaigns, Trump will likely utilize his personal plane for most travel, reserving the 737 for Vance and other campaign officials.

For instance, in 2012, Mitt Romney opted for a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 instead of a Boeing, which stood out given the prevalence of Boeing jets in prior campaigns.
