There is so much to do at Assiniboine Park! Here are a few of our favorite things.
Assiniboine Park Zoo
The Assiniboine Park Zoo has been a favourite destination for families, tourists, animal lovers and school groups for over a century, so why not add it to your agenda. There is close to 200 animal species; including 9 polar bears, an Australian walkabout exhibit, and a restaurant that offers affordable meals with the incredible view of the zoo’s largest polar bear exhibit. There is also the Dinosaur’s Alive Exhibit that is a must-see this summer!
Conservatory
The Assiniboine Park Conservatory is open-year round with guaranteed perfect weather, and contains more than 8,000 flowers, plants and trees. It is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after a long day, or to just come and enjoy the foliage.
Movies in the Park
It’s not too late to enjoy a movie in the park. On August 26 you can watch ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ at 7pm and ‘Spectre’ at 9:15pm. Bring a blanket and some snacks and settle in for a night of community cinema enjoyment.
Get Active
Whether you want to take a walk, run or bike along one of Assiniboine Park’s trails or kick a soccer ball around in the field, there is definitely a lot of ways to get moving in the park.
Take a tour
If you are interested in getting a more in-depth look at one of Winnipeg’s best parks, then maybe taking a tour is one of the best things for you . You can get a guided tour of the park or the zoo, or you can rent a bike or buggy from ‘Bee 2Gether Bikes’ so you and your friends can explore the park at your own pace.
