Making Memories at Manitoba’s Marine Museum

By Grace · On July 26, 2016

We ventured out to The Marine Museum in Selkirk, Manitoba to learn about the ships held in their marina. We learned about the artifacts and saw many boats/ships that were all the way from the 1800’s up to present day. There were a total of six unique ships and they were all very fun to explore.

Hide n’ Seek

The Marine Museum is my new favourite place to play Hide and Seek. There are a lot of places to hide in each boat, including the basement, the deck, the bunks, the control room, and the washrooms. My favourite place to hide was under the beds. If you’re small enough, you can hide there, too.

Another interesting thing was that you could re-enact the Titanic! We used our accapella skills to sing the Celine Dion classic while pretending to fly as Rose and Jack did.

If you’re into history and learning new things, don’t be afraid to head down to the Marine Museum and bring a friend. Guaranteed, you will be surprised on how much information you can learn from a simple boat and how much fun you will have with your friends.

After all, the best ship is friendship!
