The Carman Country Fair is taking place in Carman, Manitoba this weekend, July 7-9.
This event is huge! There is a livestock show, a demolition derby, a midway, and a Lumberjack competition.
A lumberjack competition
Actually, it’s the first Manitoba Lumberjack competition to ever happen in the Manitoba. It’s super exciting. Approximately twenty lumberjacks will make the trip to Carman from all over North America, and possibly even Australia. The competition includes chopping, sawing, hot-sawing (modified chainsawing), springboard chopping, and axe-throwing.
The competition begins this Friday evening and will even be aired on TSN!
Big shows and tiny horses
The fair will also host a massive livestock show with miniature horses. There will also be cattle and a stock dog demonstration. But, come on. Miniature horses.
The exhibit hall will be bustling with activity as well this weekend. The Carman Country Fair has the most displays of craftsmanship and handiwork in any Western Canada fair. You can check out the art, wood-working, knitting, planting, and baking throughout the fair weekend.
Everyone’s favourite, Wonder Shows Midway, will be at the Carman Country Fair. Three sweet acres of rides, games and food.
Tomorrow, July 7, is Family Day! With a $10.00 discount on wristbands, it’s the perfect day for your whole family to come out and enjoy everything the Carman Country Fair has to offer!
