In the summer, there are festivals and concerts and parties galore. There are beaches to lie on and street-shows to see and parks to play at. In the summer, the city is excited and energetic.
So, what do we do in the winter?
There’s nothing to do, we whine. There’s nothing going on. No one is outside.
What if I told you there were just as many fun festivals and concerts and parties? There aren’t many beaches worth visiting in February but there’s still lots to do outside your basement in the winter.
Mind = blown.
Here’s our top 5 activities for when you feel like there’s nothing to do:
5. Learn to play an instrument
Get some of your musically minded friends together and jam. Learning a new instrument or playing one you already know with friends is a great way to spend a chilly day.
4. Play a sport
Grab your skates and head down to your local community centre rink or, make the 15-minute trip to Stony Mountain Ski Area for some downhill fun.
3. Take some pics
Throw on your warmest scarf and your biggest toque and grab your camera. Walking around the city taking beautiful wintery pictures is super relaxing and ultra creative. You could even capture some like these:
2. Eat something weird
Go to a restaurant you’ve never been to and try something new. Step outside your comfort zone and have some fun.
1. Build a snowman
Do you want to build a snowman?
This is the ultimate winter activity, in our opinion. Grab your best buds and build the friendliest frosty you can.
