The Mikinak-Keya Spirit Tour focuses on the architechture of the museum and is explored from an Aboriginal perspective. The tour is hosted by an Aboriginal person who teaches you about the orgins and the meanings behind the architecture of the museum while sharing stories and experiences that they’ve aquired.
The architechture of the building has always intrigued me so I found this tour very interesting. For me personally, I think that it’s worthwhile to go on the regular tour of the museum (through the exhibits and galleries) as well as the Mikinak-Keya Spirit Tour because it’s very eye opening to see the buildings from different perspectives.
That’s something I learned at the CMHR: the importance of recognizing different perspectives.
